Do you accept insurance?

The simple answer is no. I do not accept insurance. Payment is due at the time of service (and a credit card must be kept on file with my secure online portal, SimplePractice, to book services). A mental health or behavorial health diagnostic code is required to utilize mental health insurance benefits. The diagnosis becomes a permanent part of your child's medical record, and your insurance company may require access to your child's confidential mental health records to process claims.  Insurance companies' access to your child's mental health records and diagnosis are a permanent part of your child's medical record and become "pre-existing conditions." Pre-existing conditions may impact your ability to obtain health insurance coverage for your child in the future. Pre-existing conditions may result in higher costs for coverage, including premiums, deductibles, and co-pays. By paying for counseling services "out of pocket," submitting a diagnosis to insurance is not necessary.

What is a superbill?

As an out-of-network provider, I may be able to provide you with a Superbill. A superbill is a receipt that includes the services your child received, the dates of services, and diagnostic codes. You may be able to submit Superbill to your insurance company for "after-the-fact" reimbursement for out-of-network services. While I will provide you with the superbill, you are responsible for completing all required forms for reimbursement. If your insurance contacts me with questions, I will re-direct them to you.  â€‹I cannot guarantee reimbursement nor predict the amount of reimbursement. â€‹If you are considering submitting superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, I encourage you to contact your insurance provider before beginning treatment to ensure your understanding of the process and the reimbursement rates.
