Talking to Your Child About
Play Therapy & Counseling
One of the most frequent questions parents have during the intake process is
some variation of:
How do I talk to [insert name of child or adolescent] about their upcoming appointment with you?
And, what a great question that is, because, well, to be frank, there's not a
chapter in the classic, What to Expect When You're Expecting, guiding you on how to talk to your child or what to say about going to therapy for the
first time.

I don't have a "one size fits all" solution because "one-size fits all" solutions aren't how I approach working with you and your child. But, I can offer suggestions and insight matching your child's developmental capacity so you can feel more confident talking to your child about what to expect at their first appointment.

As you'll find is always the case at Rachel Gladys Therapeutic Services you can reach out to me should you need more or different support because this parenting thing, really does take a village...

to increase your confidence talking with your child about
their first counseling appointment with Rachel!
